SEO Testing Anchor Text

When someone claims expertise in search engine optimization, and states categorically that something is a fact recognized by other professionals, without any reference to a statistical test you are left with few options.

  1. Just trust them, and stop doing what you've done to date and subscribe to their competing philosophies kumbaya blogging.
  2. continue to do what a multitude of experts say you work for them, it worked for them for years, and probably will continue to work until some monumental changes in Google Algorithm
  3. Go on the offensive, known as SEO is bullshit, and see if they can get to the evidence
  4. Creation of a public test to prove them wrong

Option 1 is for sheep Option 2 has the merit - just go about your business and happy that people are fleecing the 1000s with his brand of cool-aid and increase your competitive advantage. Option 3 is fun, maybe even good for short term linkbait, but not really squash another person's "opinion" without any factual evidence. Option 4 is a smart choice

So, we are now testing the anchor text and whether it is passed as the ranking factors referred to in Article directory for the destination page.

This is not a statistical test, and in many ways is a bit flawed

  1. anchor text we use is unique on the Internet - if the phrases are unique to the Internet, Google may be more inclined to count the anchor text.
  2. This article can complete syndicated to other sites so you do not prove that the link from the article catalog no. But as the argument resolved around it pointless to use article marketing for SEO, if the article is further syndicated then use article marketing.
  3. This is just one test that could easily be undermined by a 3rd party that would be normal.

I am not going to use article spinning to try to make every article submission is unique, and I'm not going to isolate just one article directory, because it would not be fair to them to such an examination in public ... I'm sure there are some article directories that do not pass Ranking Factors from their site for paid links.

This is also subject to the whims of the article directory moderators. This is clearly an attempt to highlight the part of their benefit that is often underplayed. "Pure" article marketing authors are not just writing articles for SEO purposes. They love to write, it's their passion, they make a living from writing no SEO, or write for a wide exposure to their ideas and talent.

There are many article directories that use the Microformat rel = "nofollow" in their anchor links. It is even something I recommend, if the article directory owners do not believe their authors, and do not have time for continuous monitoring of existing connections to changes in reputation. If your site has links to 100K + other Web sites, monitoring them on an ongoing basis for malware not a trivial task, even though there technology solutions.

I'll sign off here, the link anchor text I am using the trial will appear in the byline.
